                        SWOT

                        1. Identify: Distinguish internal factors as those within your control (Strengths and Weaknesses), such as resources, capabilities, or processes. External factors (Opportunities and Threats) are outside your control and relate to market conditions, competition, or environmental trends.

                        2. Actionable steps: The first step is to clearly list and categorize all identified factors into the four SWOT quadrants before attempting to build any strategy.

                        3. Cross-analysis: Use the SWOT matrix to connect internal and external factors by matching Strengths with Opportunities (to capitalize on advantages), Strengths with Threats (to mitigate risks), Weaknesses with Opportunities (to improve and grow), and Weaknesses with Threats (to minimize vulnerabilities), thereby generating actionable strategic options.

                        PEST

                        1. Identify:

                        • P (Political): Government policies, regulations, and legal factors.
                        • E (Economic): Financial conditions, market trends, and economic indicators.
                        • S (Social): Cultural trends, demographics, and consumer behaviors.
                        • T (Technological): Innovations, technological advancements, and digital trends.

                        2. Context:

“Ad spending” and “User acquisition costs” fall under the Economic category, as they relate to financial conditions and cost structures in the market.

                        3. External analysis:

Begin by brainstorming key factors in each category:

                        • Political: Identify relevant regulations, compliance requirements, or policy changes affecting your industry.
                        • Economic: Analyze market size, costs, pricing trends, and overall economic conditions.
                        • Social: Explore customer behaviors, lifestyle trends, and demographic shifts.
